Research has proven that high concentrations of hydrogen water can resist fatigue and aid sleep?
With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, the pace of life is also getting faster and faster. If you often feel headaches, lower back pain, weakness in your limbs, and insomnia, but have no major problems during a check-up, then you may be in a state of chronic fatigue. If not adjusted in a timely manner, a serious illness may haunt you. Good water determines lifespan. Hydrogen water is not only clean, but also has energy. Water presents as small molecular active water masses, with negative ions deeply absorbed by 80%, purifying the blood, making it smooth, metabolizing vigorously, preventing various diseases, and improving human health. The main functions of hydrogen are: antioxidant, selective neutralization of hydroxyl radicals, nitrite anions, etc. Hydrogen ions combine with reactive oxygen species, reduce to water, and excrete from the body. Hydrogen water has therefore begun to receive widespread attention in the international market. Simply put, hydrogen water is hydrogen reducing water, which is a type of drinking water that contains strong reducing hydrogen in the water. Unlike ordinary water, it uses its antioxidant and reducing properties to remove excess reactive oxygen species (oxygen free radicals) from the body. Many of the benefits of hydrogen water have been studied and proven:
1. Hydrogen water has anti fatigue performance
The purpose of this study is to use a double-blind placebo-controlled trial in the human body to demonstrate the effects of hydrogen water consumption on exercise induced respiration, fatigue perception, and blood lactate levels. 12 healthy male participants, aged 27.1 ± 4.9 years, drank 600 milliliters of hydrogen water or control water 30 minutes before exercise. Exercise begins with a 10 minute warm-up with an intensity of 1.0W/kg body weight, followed by 8 minutes of high-intensity exercises of 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 W/kg body weight, respectively. At the last moment of each step, cardiovascular respiratory indicators, blood lactate levels, and subjective fatigue perception assessments are conducted. It was found that hydrogen water can significantly reduce blood lactate levels. At 3.0 and 4.0 W/kg body weight exercise intensity, the blood lactate levels in the hydrogen water group were 4.0 ± 1.6 and 8.9 ± 2.2 mM, while those in the placebo control group were 5.1 ± 1.9 and 10.6 ± 3.0 mM. When the exercise intensity is 4.0W/kg body weight, the ventilation equivalent hydrogen water group is 32.3 ± 7.2, and the control group is 35.0 ± 8.4. The fatigue perception evaluation index is 17.8 ± 1.2 points for the hydrogen water group and 18.5 ± 0.8 points for the control group. The research results suggest that supplementing hydrogen water before acute exercise can significantly reduce blood lactate levels after high-intensity exercise, improve exercise fatigue and lung ventilation efficiency.
2. Hydrogen water helps improve sleep quality
Insomnia is a very painful thing. Some scholars have conducted experiments with water containing hydrogen to see how hydrogen water can improve sleep quality and treat insomnia? Osaka Municipal University in Japan conducted an experiment. A four week experiment was conducted on 26 healthy individuals, with half males and half females, with an average age of 34.4 years old. The content of the experiment was to divide the 26 subjects into two groups, one group drank 300cc of hydrogen containing water with a concentration of 0.8~1.2 ppm in the morning and evening, and the other group drank ordinary drinking water with the same package. A randomized double-blind experiment was conducted, in which neither the experimenter nor the subjects knew who was drinking hydrogen containing water and who was drinking ordinary drinking water. Four weeks later, using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index mentioned above, it was found that the group drinking hydrogen rich water had a significant decrease in their total PSQI score, indicating an improvement in sleep quality. In addition, the experiment also used the sympathetic nervous system to measure sleep quality. The sympathetic nervous system belongs to the autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system can be divided into sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system. In most cases, the sympathetic nervous system plays the role of the accelerator; The opposite parasympathetic nervous system belongs to the category of braking. Therefore, to sleep, it is necessary to weaken the sympathetic nervous system and enhance the parasympathetic nervous system. Research has found that the group drinking hydrogen water has a significant decrease in sympathetic nervous system activity during sleep after four weeks!
